You will first choose either sword dance or poetry dance.
Lessons will be held twice a week, with fixed days and times.
Through six months of lessons, you will learn the basics of sword dance and poetry dance, including basic movements and body usage.
This course is also recommended for those who are interested but feel a little unsure about joining as a student from the beginning.
First, spend six months practicing and experiencing the charm and depth of sword dance and poetic dance.
After completing the course, those who wish to learn more can become disciples and continue their training.

■ Intensive Skills Acquisition Course (1-year & 3-year): A Comprehensive Study of Kenbu (Sword Dance) and Japanese Culture
The Intensive Skills Acquisition Course is a comprehensive course that systematically teaches not only the techniques of Kenbu and Shibu, but also the underlying Japanese culture and knowledge.
If you wish to obtain a Cultural Activities Visa, please select this course.
You can take the Natori (certified practitioner) qualification exam in 3 years!
You will learn a wide range of content related to Kenbu, including Kenbu, Shibu, Iaido, and poetry interpretation, as well as the dressing and makeup necessary for performing on stage, over a period of one year (or three years).
You will also learn about opportunities to utilize what you have learned, such as auditions.
It’s not simply about “learning the dance.”
This course aims to deepen your understanding of Kenshibu (sword dance and poetry dance) by exploring its origins, the meaning behind the poems and prose, and its connection to Japanese history and culture.
Furthermore, after three years of study, you can take the Natori (master instructor) qualification exam.

【After Course Completion】
You can take the Natori examination in 3 years.
Those who wish can continue their lessons as a student.
This course is recommended for international students who want to seriously learn about traditional Japanese culture, and for those who will be staying in Kansai (Osaka) for a certain period due to relocation, etc.
During your stay, you can learn not only sword dance and poetry dance, but also a wide range of Japanese culture, including iaido, poetry interpretation, and dressing.
Even if you leave Japan after completing your lessons, we can discuss remote lessons upon request.
You can continue learning Kenshibu (sword dance and poetry recitation) that you learned in Japan, even after returning to Japan or moving.
Even after completing the course, you can continue your involvement with Kenshibu according to your own goals and circumstances.
